Review: 2gether

2gether espouses itself as an international dating site concentrating on women from the Former Soviet Union (FSU) to meet men from western nations. In actual searches, it is much more than that. Women from all over the world use this site, as do men from everywhere! While the majority of the women are from the FSU, this shows that it is not limited, and allows a broader search criteria for people looking for love. You may even find someone from your own country!

One of the things I particularly like about this site is shown in the box to the right. Here you can see when the other person last visited the site and how long she’s been on it. You can also check out how popular she has been by the number of visits to her page and those who have actually contacted her from this. For example, the person shown on the right didn’t have a lot of visitors, relatively speaking (only 105), but had a high response rate (nearly 8%) when compared to others (which are usually around 4%, less for some of the more attractive women, who get a LOT of visitors).

Until you have paid the fee (starts from $10.00) you are not able to contact anyone. However, you do have the ability to add them to your “selection”, which is like a “favourites” on most sites.

The search engine on this site is really good, allowing you to search not only by age and country, but also as close as a particular city, and any of the personal information on a profile (hair colour, smoking, height, good looking, etc.). There are a lot of people using this site – several thousand, at least, so the site is obviously very active.

The profiles on this site include optional items for lifestyle, personal style/looks, hobbies, pictures, what the person is searching for, and the general description area, which also allows a small “essay” to be input. Most users leave the majority of this blank, so it isn’t a lot of use because of that. That being said, most women will put in their search criteria (what they are looking for on a man), so that is quite useful.

The only thing that I honestly don’t like about this site is that it tends to be very slow. It sees they need to upgrade their servers or get a better host. You’ll find them at 2gether.com.ua.
